Birthday Book Club (BBC) Coordinator

The role of the BBC Coordinator is to support Parents' Association (PA) fund raising activities, in which proceeds help to enrich library and classroom resources for students. This position is a voting member of the Parents' Association Council (PAC).

Key Duties:

  • Modify and update BBC content on the TFS site communicating the program to parents during the registration process.
  • Gather reports from IT with participation details and relevant information required for the librarians to administer the program.
  • Gather additional reports from IT with participation details and relevant information required for Finance to charge parent's TFS account.
  • Provide visibility to the PA President and relevant school administration on program participation along with updates to the PAC as requested.
  • Address questions and/or concerns from parents on the BBC process.
  • Provide update at PAC meeting on how funds were used by the librarians for the school year.
  • Prepare report to be included in PA activities for the PA AGM.
  • Grow participation from year to year.

Other PA Duties:

  • As a member of the PA, act as an ambassador and resource for parents and administration to encourage an inclusive TFS community.
  • Attend all monthly PAC meetings; participate in discussions and vote as required.
  • Remain in good standing on the PAC and maintain strict adherence to the TFS Code of Conduct and PA Constitution.

Key skills/abilities/experience:

  • Good organizational skills and be comfortable using spreadsheets.
  • Must have solid communication skills, and ability to pursue a confidential and diplomatic approach with all TFS stakeholders.

Commitment:

  • The post is for one year and can be renewed for up to four consecutive years.
  • The time commitment required is on average 2 hours each month for the PAC meeting, in addition to 2 - 4 hours at the beginning of the school year for coordination and developing reports.
