August 2014
Dear Parents,

On behalf of the TFS Parents’ Association, I would like to welcome everyone to the 2014-2015 school year. I approach this coming year with mixed emotions. As I embark on my second year as President of the Parents’ Association, I am excited to continue the exceptional work the PA has done and continues to do to enhance TFS. As a parent of a Level V student, I radiate with pride over my child’s accomplishments but sadden that my stay at TFS is coming to an end.

The PA serves as a liaison between faculty, staff, parents and students while enriching our school’s community.  We organize a wide variety of fundraising events and initiatives to further enhance our children’s’ educational experience.  During the 2013-2014 school year, the PA provided financial and volunteer support. We fundraised for each branch through our “Pizza Lunch” program, sponsored the athletic tents, and assisted in school wide events, specifically the Grade 1, 5 and Level 5 graduation, Mississauga’s Grade 7 ceremony and the new Level I “Célébrons”. Through the generous support of TFS parents, we continue to assist and pledge to Soaring Beyond: The Campaign for TFS

Volunteers are the heartbeat of the PA and how we gain a deeper sense of our children’s environment and develop long lastin

g friendships with fellow parents. TFS parents possess a diverse range of experiences and skill sets. Everyone adds value and the more we’re able to amalgamate our individual talents, the more we’ll be able to grow as a team with one goal – to further enrich our children’s experience at TFS. I would be happy to personally meet with you as parents or potential volunteers. I encourage you to attend our monthly Parents’ Association Committee (PAC) meetings where you will learn about the details of all TFS and PA events. You are part of the TFS community and very important to the PA, and we welcome your ideas and opinions.

I look forward to meeting you and hope you’ll be able to support through volunteering. Thank you for the opportunity to serve as your president during this school year!
